Coming Soon: A Cleaner Ice for your Imbibing Pleasure!

October 20, 2015 | By |

Nothing like enjoying a good whisky; better yet, enjoying it on the rocks, allowing the inner flavors to open up and give you a better overall experience.  Many whisky and craft bars today are coming up with ways to enjoy this experience even more by having actual ice programs in their places of business, where blocks of ice are brought in and the skillful bartender chips away at the block to give you a chunk of ice that enhances the experience even more.  This is very time-consuming and is also a wasteful procedure.  Plus, no matter how pure this block is when coming into the bar, it is handled many times by many people, contaminating it with who knows what.  As much as I like to have the purest cube of ice in my cocktail, this seems, to me, to be a waste of time.  They also have different molds to give you these bigger cubes of ice.  But, tap water is used to fill these molds.  The chemicals used to clean and sanitize the tap water, plus the foreign matter found in most, takes away from the experience of the spirit you are chilling itself, giving you flavors and aromas other than the ones you should be enjoying while drinking your favorite liquor.

How about I was to tell you that there is a better way?

The Tudor Ice Company, the pioneers of ice manufacturing, have come up with a way to give us what we are looking for when chilling our favorite beverages and they need our help in bringing this concept to the masses.Tudor Ice. Old photo showing ice delivery

If you are unfamiliar with this company, be sure to look them up.  They have been around since the early 1800s and were instrumental in perfecting the mass production and shipping of ice to the world.  Who better than to get this project going down the right path from the get-go.

Today, they will be starting a Kickstarter campaign to get the capital necessary to begin mass production.  What they are doing is prepacking the cleanest form of water, so you can freeze it at your convenience.  Plus, the way that it is packaged, the cube will never be touched by human hands before it reaches your glass.  The only human contact that this cube will see will be on your lips while enjoying every sip of your favorite drink.  And you can do this knowing that the only taste and aroma you will be getting will be that from the spirit you are enjoying itself.  No more contaminated ice.  Heck, why do we buy bottled water?  This is the new generation of ice manufacturing when it comes to the bar industry.

Here is a link to get to their Kickstarter campaign:  www.tudorice.com/kickstarter.   Be sure to check this out and share the information with friends you know enjoy a great imbibing experience.

I have been in the bar business for thirty years and have seen many ways ice has been introduced to cocktails to further enhance the experience for the consumer.  I can tell you first hand that this is the purest that you will get when adding ice to your beverage.  That’s why I am writing this and want to share with you the information about their Kickstarter campaign.  For those of you in the business, you know first-hand the importance of having the cleanest and most dense ice to give you a great imbibing experience.

Let’s help get this program in mass production by being a backer for this campaign.
