Happy Monday, one and all!
As you know, the grandfather of vodka cocktails – The Moscow Mule, has had quite the resurgence these last few years. At the bar I am currently working at, we are so much into this frenzy that we keep running out of copper mugs to pour new drinks into. I always have the waitresses scouring the floor, looking for empty mugs so I can keep up with the demand. This is a great problem to have and is quite understandable. This is a very tasty beverage; one I tend to order up from time to time. However, I believe in tinkering to make a great cocktail even greater. Nice thing about this one is that it’s easy to add things to it and still get the flavor of ginger throughout. Here is one of those I think you will find intriguing as well as delicious.
I came up with this cocktail during the holiday season, so I originally named it the “Holiday Mule”. However, since I think this would make a nice refresher at any time of the year, I am renaming it the Festivity Mule. Hope you find this as enjoyable as I have. Cheers!
1 1/2 oz. Cherry infused Vodka
Splash of Fresh Lime Juice
2 oz. Cranberry Juice
Ginger Beer (non-alcoholic variety recommended)
Garnishes: Lime Wedge on the rim of the glass and four to five cran-raisins on top of the drink.
Method: Build this in a copper mug filled with ice, (if that’s not available, a high ball glass will work fine), by pouring in the first three ingredients in to measure. Top off with ginger beer. Stir then garnish.
