Hi! I’m Shaun Daugherty, a veteran of the bar and restaurant industry for the past twenty years. Welcome to Shaun the Bartender. There are a lot of websites out there that reference bartending and for the time being, I am one of many. However, for the next twelve months, you will see that this will be much more than your average website; it will be a place you will be able to go for any questions you will have regarding bartending. On top of that, you will have information on where you can sign up for a one-day barschool. That’s right! Why would you want to go to a two week school when you can learn the true fundamentals in one day? Plus, there will be ongoing videos on other areas of the business that will be beneficial to you as you expand your knowledge in the industry.

This site is not only for the rookie bartenders out there. Being in this industry for many years, I can tell you myself that there is much more to it than learning your assortment of drinks and knowing your beers and wines. I am hoping to share with you the knowledge that time brings as well as a library of information from some other valuable references. I am also hoping to eventually have a job locate section for those of you looking for new opportunities in this fun and exciting occupation.

Beginning it October of this year, I will begin classes that will give you a strong foundation to become one of the best bartenders in the industry. Unlike most bar schools who feel that learning how to make a couple hundred drinks prepares you to step behind the bar, I believe it takes learning the characteristic side first will make you most successful. In fact, this training will enhance your opportunity for bigger tips and better jobs in the industry. It will also give you something more important - A life lesson that you can take with you in any other type of occupation you get into in the future!
