How can you go wrong with a nice and bubbly champagne cocktail? The weather is starting to turn for the better and I couldn’t think of another drink that could compliment that change. Add a little lime and raspberry, and kick it up a notch with some vodka, and you have yourself a great beverage to celebrate the nice weekend for a change.

This isn’t only called the Big Crush because it has a flavor of the Grape Crush non-alcoholic soda beverage. If you are not careful, this drink will crush you. Be sure to make this an evening sipper and not your guzzler variety. Plus, you don’t want to miss enjoying and imbibing on each and every sip.

Here’s to a great weekend. Hope you have a relaxing one. Cheers!

The Big Crush

2 oz. Vodka

3/4 oz. Raspberry Liqueur

1/2 oz. Fresh Lime Juice

3/4 oz. Cointreau

Champagne

Method: Pour all the ingredients, except the champagne, to measure in a mixing glass filled with ice. Strain into a nicely chilled cocktail glass. Top off the drink with 2 - 3 oz. of champagne, leaving about a half inch to the top of the glass. Take an orange rind and twist it over the cocktail, allowing the oils from the peel to disperse on top of the drink. Rub the twist gently on the rim of the glass before dropping in. If you happen to have some nice looking raspberries, drop those into the cocktail as well.
