The Canadian Cherry is June 5th Drink of the Day!!

With it being summertime, many put away the whiskey and look at making a lighter spirit their go-to for the coming months. I have a question for those with that state of mind: Why? There are many great cocktails out there that are refreshing and summery that are based with this great full-bodied liquor. Today’s Drink of the Day is a great example of that.

Canadian whisky is a great mixer for those who want to get away from the neat or on the rocks type beverages. The Canadian Cherry gives you the great flavor of the whisky, hiding the bite of the spirit and giving you the aroma of maraschino and citrus. A great combination.

So, if you want to venture a little and get away from your tiki rum beverage or the typical vodka infusion on a hot summer’s day, this would be a great time to do so. Salute!

Canadian Cherry

1 1/2 oz. Canadian Whisky

1/2 oz. Maraschino Liqueur

1/2 oz. Orange Juice

Juice of half a Lemon

Method: In a mixing glass filled with ice, add the ingredients to measure. Cap and shake to blend the ingredients. Strain into an old fashioned glass filled with ice.
