The Canadian Pineapple is April 22nd Drink of the Day!!

Whiskey cocktails are great, especially when you are using a good Canadian blend for the base. As many of you already know, these whiskys are great when introducing other ingredients to enhance them. Most are meant to be mixed with something else. Now, this does not mean that they are not good, just to clear things up a bit. However, they do not do as well standing alone as other whiskys (whiskeys) do and, in my opinion, need some enhancing. This is a great example in regards to that and why I have chosen this as the Drink of the Day. If blended properly, you will get mostly the pineapple and maraschino liqueur with a hint of lemon. But the backbone of the Canadian whisky assist in complementing the flavors of all that are added to this drink, giving each of the ingredients another dimension.

Well, I guess it’s more important to show you how to make one of these so you can see for yourself. A nice combination that you can enjoy during the springtime as you are getting the yard ready for the season. Cheers!

 

Canadian Pineapple

1 1/2 oz. Canadian Whisky

1/2 oz. Maraschino Liqueur

1 oz. Pineapple Juice

Juice of 1/2 a Lemon

 

Method: In a mixing glass filled with ice, pour in the first three ingredients to measure. Squeeze in the juice of half a lemon, discarding the lemon after doing so. Cap off with a tin and shake a couple times to blend the flavor. Strain into an old fashioned glass filled with ice. Add a stir stick and serve.
