The Crown Jewel is April 3rd Drink of the Day!!
Nothing like a good whiskey beverage for some social gatherings. Adding another liquor to it takes it to newer heights that will be appreciated for those fortunate enough to have one of these cocktails at your next party. Getting to the middle of the week is enough excuse to make the Crown Jewel the Drink of the Day! By the weekend, you should be able to master putting this together.
A perfect blend of Canadian whiskey and coconut rum, then adding some juices and lemon-lime soda, will give you a nice refresher that you can enjoy all summer long. The cleanliness of the Canadian whiskey gives the coconut rum a chance to present itself well in this cocktail; a great supporting role. The fruit juice will actually be the one to link the flavors, adding only a hint of these to only enhance the main performers. The soda will give it the “POP” needed, (no pun intended), to give it that over-the-top flavor.
Now for the fun part of the Drink of the Day - In the video, we have changed the format somewhat. The most important part of this change is the background music. For the next seven days, we will be showcasing a band in my area. They are a band called “Acid Cats”, a great rhythm jazz band out of Akron, Ohio. Be sure to check out their Facebook Page @
