Daydream Martini is October 9th Drink of the Day!!
Well, the summer is over and, where I live, we will be at least knee-deep in snow in the next couple months. I have to admit, I like this time of year. The days are still warm and the nights are chilly enough to where you can cover yourself up nice and snug. This is perfect weather as far as I’m concerned. There are many of you out there, however, that do not have the same beliefs. You are looking forward to getting back into the swimming pool weather and sporting a natural tan. I’m sorry to say you will only be able to see this in your dreams this time of year in my neck of the woods.
Here’s a drink named after those who like to dream of those warmer days. A nice little reminder that we will see those days again next year. Now’s a good time to get yourself used to making this nice and refreshing cocktail. A vodka based beverage with a citrus edge, you can shut your eyes and be where you want to be. Especially after you have had a couple. Enjoy and dream on!
2 oz. Citrus Infused Vodka
1 oz. Orange Juice
1/2 oz. Triple Sec
1 Tsp. of Granulated Sugar or 1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
Method: In a mixing glass filled with ice, pour in the measured amounts of the ingredients. Cap off with a shaker tin and shake vigorously to get the drink nice and cold. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a half-wheel of orange placed on the rim of the glass.
