Drink of the Day: Abbey Road Coffee

January 6, 2015 | By | Add a Comment

If you have been waiting for this earlier, I apologize. I woke up to about three inches of snow on the car and cold temperatures. As much as I like to do these blogs first thing in the morning, I had some duties to take care of as a dad and husband. Now that I have taken care of these obligations, I am glad to share with you today’s Drink of the Day.

If you are anywhere in the Midwest, or on the Eastern coast north of the Carolinas, you are probably getting the bitter cold temperatures and the snow today. I felt that an adult coffee drink was in order for this type of day. After a couple of these nice and flavor-filled beverages, you won’t care what it’s like outside. Hopefully, it will put your mind at ease to enjoy what is left of this day.

Equal parts of amaretto, coffee liqueur, and raspberry liqueur is a great combination with some hot java; and let’s not forget the best part of this cocktail: the whipped cream. What’s the temperature outside? Maybe we need to sip on one of these to ponder….or better yet, not. Let’s just be happy we are looking at it from the inside, enjoying a hot beverage with added attributes.

Enjoy today, no matter where you live. The moment is what we have and should be appreciated. Enjoy your enhanced Joe and stay warm! Cheers!

Abbey Road Coffee

3/4 oz. Coffee Liqueur

3/4 oz. Raspberry Liqueur

3/4 oz. Amaretto

Coffee

Whipped Cream

Method: In an Irish coffee mug, pour in the first three ingredients to measure. Top off with coffee to about a half inch from the rim. Take to stir sticks and set them on top of the glass, forming a “v” shape. Hold the straws in place while adding the whipped cream. Option: Instead of adding the raspberry liqueur to the coffee, hold off on this ingredient and add it to the top of the whipped cream for decoration.
