Drink of the Day: Bahama Mama

Good morning and Happy President’s Day!

Some of you are taking it easy and relaxing on this national holiday. Unfortunate for me, I am not one of those people. In fact, I am not looking forward to walking outside today. Where I sit, it is a frigid minus 8 degrees fahrenheit right now. Hopefully we will see zero before I have to go out to start the car. I am beginning to question my sanity, living in such a cold climate. To be the optimist, we are close to seeing warmer weather. It could be October and not February right now. I think I can tolerate a few more weeks of this.

To keep me more sane, I am going to fix up a cocktail that is meant for the warmer climates. This is a staple in the islands. A fruity, yet potent, cocktail that will make you forget about the weather outside. The Bahama Mama will be sure to knock out those winter time blues.

Hope you have a great start to your week. Be sure to tell your friends about us.

Cheers!

Bahama Mama

Method: Build this in a highball glass filled with ice by adding all the first five ingredients to measure. Top off with pineapple juice. Pour into a mixing glass and cap with a tin. Shake to blend. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Garnish with a strawberry and lime half wheel.
