Drink of the Day: Baja Blues
I am fortunate to have the opportunity to bring you cocktails on a daily basis that are easy to make for your home parties. I also, from time to time, get the opportunity to create my own that become signature cocktails for other bars and brands. This happens to be one of those that I’d like to share with you.
This is an easy-to-make tequila drink that has a great combination of citrus juices. It also has a very nice hue that will start a conversation at any party. I started out as a consultant at the place I made this for. Jilly’s Music Room has this as one of their premier cocktails. Now that I bartend here a couple nights a week, I see that once I make one of these I end up making several due to the visual beauty this cocktail has. The flavor is just as inviting, knowing this by the reorders I see come in. It has become the top seller of the signatures.
If you a tequila imbiber this is a must-try. A perfect summer drink that will wow your guests. Just be sure to stock up on the liquor. It will go faster than usual with this easy to go down beverage. Just remember to drink responsibly. Cheers!
1 1/2 oz. Gold Tequila
1/2 oz. Blue Curacao
3/4 oz. Cointreau
Juice of one Lemon
Juice of one Lime
1 1/2 oz. Pineapple Juice
Method: Take a tulip glass and rim it with kosher salt and set it to the side (this is optional). In a mixing glass filled with ice, add all the ingredients to measure. Cap with a tin and shake well. Fill the salt rimmed tulip with ice, being sure not to mess up the rim of salt. Strain the cocktail into the salt rimmed tulip glass filled with ice. Garnish with a lemon, lime, and cherry flag.

Hey, Shaun
Great videos! To me the drink seems to be very tart (Baja Blues) with the lemon and lime, what is the general feedback you receive when making this drink?
Thanks,
Andrew
Thanks for your input. Since making this drink, I have toned it down to half of each of the line and lemon. The thought process of a whole of each was due to the sweetness of the pineapple and Cointreau. Please, keep commenting and following. Always appreciate the feedback! Cheers!
