Drink of the Day: Bloody Mary

Happy New Year!

Hope everyone had a great evening. Just in case you had too good of one, I have a nice and hearty Bloody Mary recipe for you to try. One cool thing about this cocktail is that every single bartender has a way of making this drink and, of course, most bartenders think that their way is the perfect way. In all actuality, it comes down to taste. In my version, you better like them hot and hearty. I really think that people don’t add enough Worcester Sauce to the drink. Also, I love this all-spice that I have included in this recipe. If you don’t want to go this route, you can use any all-spice you have available. However, this stuff is worth looking into. To find out more about Tricky Dix Mojo, go to their site:

This cocktail is meant to be hearty, so you can help fight fire with fire. This recipe is not for those just looking to have a vodka and tomato juice. The best way to describe the flavor is that it tastes like hot liquid shrimp cocktail sauce. So maybe having a couple jumbo shrimps ready for garnish wouldn’t be a bad idea. One great thing about this cocktail is that anything goes. For my version in the video, I just add a few pimento stuffed olives.

Hope your 2015 is starting off on the right note. This should help with that. Cheers!

Hot and Hearty Bloody Mary

1 oz. Worcester Sauce

1/2 Tsp. Prepared Horseradish

1/2 Tsp. Tricky Dix Mojo Original All-Spice

1/2 Tsp. Black Pepper

2 Wedges of Lemon

2 Wedges of Lime

1 1/2 oz. Vodka

Tomato Juice

Method: Optional-Rub a wedge of lime on the rim of the pint glass that you will use as the cocktail glass for this cocktail. Dip the wet rim into a saucer with Tricky Dix Mojo to rim the glass. Set the glass to the side.

In the preparation pint glass, add everything but the tomato juice. Take a bar spoon and stir to get a consistant mixture. Add ice. Top off with tomato juice. Cap with a tin and shake well. Pour the cocktail into the all-spice rimmed glass. Add three pimento stuffed olives for garnish, or anything you want for that matter.
