Drink of the Day: Caribbean Dance
I don’t usually put a Drink of the Day up for Sundays. But, due to me feeling like doing it, I figured why not? It doesn’t hurt to have a cocktail on our day of rest and relaxation. Might as well enjoy it more by having a nice and refreshing rum cocktail.
This is one of seven cocktails I made for an expo which was supposed to have taken place last year but didn’t. Instead of letting these cocktails go to waste, why not share one with you. This is a great tiki-type rum beverage that you can enjoy anytime - especially during the dog days of summer while basking out at poolside. The fresh ingredients really make this drink pop!
We are only weeks away from the season being over. It has gone quick this year. Kids will be in school soon and the first sign of fall is just around the corner. Before putting the cover back on the pool, let’s enjoy this last half of August a couple more parties and some more summertime beverages. Here’s one I’m sure you will be putting on your list as a favorite for such festivities. Cheers!
3 - 4 Fresh Raspberries
1 oz. Peach Nectar
1 Tsp. of Granulated Sugar (optional)
1 1/2 oz. White Rum
1/2 oz. Kahlua
Soda Water
Method: In a mixing glass, put in the raspberries, sugar, and the peach nectar. Muddle together until it is blended well. In a tin filled with ice, pour in the rum and kahlua to measure. Cap with the mixing glass with the muddled ingredients and shake well. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Top off with soda water. Garnish with an orange twist and two fresh raspberries.
