Drink of the Day: Colorado Minty Dog

Here’s a cocktail that will be perfect when taking a break from skiing and you need a little pick me up. This is a knock-off of the Colorado Bulldog, where you have a combination of vodka and kahlua. Here, the vodka is taken out of the equation and peppermint schnapps is put in its place. A perfect mint and chocolate cream cocktail that will be perfect as you warm up by the fire after enjoying some outdoor winter activity. It sure beats the hot cocoa.

The brisk winter winds are going to test my will today. I may have to have a couple of these to warm up the insides. If nothing else, it will get me in the mood to where I won’t care.

Colorado Minty Dog

1 oz. Kahlua

1/2 oz. Peppermint Schnapps

1 oz. Light Cream

Cola

Method: In a mixing glass filled with ice, pour in the first three ingredients to measure, leaving out the cola. Cap and shake to blend. Pour into a highball glass filled with ice. Top off with cola. Stir and serve.
