Drink of the Day: Crystal Slipper

August 7, 2014 | By | Add a Comment

Happy Thursday!

Here we are, already on the downside of the week and into the first week of August. Kids will be going back to school within the month, which means many of us will be getting ready to shut down our pools for the season. In other words: We need to make the most of this month and enjoy what we have right now. How about a nice Drink of the Day to make you forget about what’s around the corner?

The color of this cocktail will be a great conversation starter at your next poolside get together. The sweet and orange backend to compliment the flavors of our main ingredient, gin, will give you that summertime feel. So, let’s forget about what’s to come and enjoy the present. Cheers!

Crystal Slippersam-tini 1

2 oz. Gin

1/2 oz. Blue Curacao

2 Dashes Orange Bitters

Method: In a mixing glass filled with ice, pour in all the ingredients to measure. Cap off with a tin and shake well. Strain into a nicely chilled cocktail glass. Take a peel of an orange and twist it over the cocktail, allowing the oils from the rind to disperse onto the drink. Rub it gently on the rim of the glass before dropping it into the drink.
