Drink of the Day: Cuban Crime of Passion

August 26, 2014 | By | Add a Comment

You have probably already guessed what the base ingredient of this cocktail is. But, what you don’t know is that there are three varieties of rum that will make up the liquor in this drink. This combination, along with the pineapple, gives you a surprisingly smooth and refreshing beverage that works well at any outdoor party.

I love rum, I have to admit. I can drink it all year long. However, this is the time of year when it seems to go down a lot easier. And nothing like a tiki beverage when enjoying the summertime weather. It seems to smooth everything out just fine. So, here’s a Drink of the Day to enjoy while getting some sun and rewarding yourself after a couple laps in the pool. Enjoy!

Cuban Crime of Passion

1/2 oz. White Rum

1/2 oz. Coconut Rum

1/2 oz. Spiced Rum

1/2 oz. Triple Sec

3 oz. Pineapple Juice

Method: In a mixing glass filled with ice, pour in the ingredients to measure. Cap off with a tin and shake well. Strain into a tulip glass filled with ice. Garnish with two maraschino cherries on a garnish sword.
