Drink of the Day: Depth Bomb

January 7, 2015 | By | Add a Comment

When it’s cold outside, I like to pull out some cocktails made with brandy. Don’t know why, and maybe it’s just a subconscious thing on my part, but when I think about warming myself up nothing does it better than a brandy cocktail.

When you see the name of this, you are going to think “shooter” but it is far from it. This is a sipper that you can enjoy as an aperitif during the cocktail hour. The brandy/applejack combination, along with the nice edge of lemon, gives you a smooth and delightful beverage, which goes perfect after a day’s worth of dealing with the elements outside.

Enjoy mid-week and stay warm. This will get you started by warming you from the inside out. Cheers!

Depth Bomb

Juice of half a Lemon

3/4 oz. Apple Jack

3/4 oz. Brandy

Splash of Grenadine

Method: In a mixing glass filled with ice, pour the ingredients in to measure. Cap with a tin and shake to blend. Strain into an old fashioned glass with ice.
