The Drink of the Day is the Fort Lauderdale!!
What an interesting combination. The sweet vermouth really sets the tone and rounds out the flavor of the other ingredients to give you a nice aperitif to sip on during cocktail hour. A subtle, yet a refreshing blend that will surprise you with everything it has to offer. I was quite pleased and surprised on how well the vermouth established itself throughout my experience. The rum and citrus go together well, as always. But adding a little bit of the vermouth gives you other levels of delight.
Here we are, in the middle of the week already. Here is a great Drink of the Day to enjoy the hump and start getting toned up for the weekend. And who really needs an excuse to enjoy a nice hearty quaff anyway? Cheers to another beautiful day!
1 1/2 oz. Light Rum
1/2 oz. Sweet Vermouth
1 oz. Orange Juice
Splash of Lime Juice
Method: Build this in an old fashioned glass filled with ice by pouring in all the ingredients to measure. Stir. Place a half-wheel of orange on the rim of the glass for decoration.
