Drink of the Day: Golden Cadillac

November 9, 2014 | By | Add a Comment

Galliano, one of the forgotten ingredients in this generation, is a great liqueur to enhance many cocktails. With today’s Drink of the Day, it will be the main act. Mixed together with a hint of chocolate flavor and cream, this after-dinner delight will get you in the right mood to get you in your comfort zone, a perfect time to go to bed a little early and get yourself a great sleep. Just in time for Monday.

This cocktail was first created in El Dorado, California at a place called Poor Red’s BBQ in 1952. It was still one of the biggest sellers in this establishment until it closed down in 2013. Originally, the drink consists of three equal parts of its three ingredients. However, I felt it tasted better by using a little less Creme de Cacao. I will let you be the judge.

Have a fantastic Sunday, everyone, and cheers!

Golden Cadillac

1 oz. Galliano

3/4 oz. White Creme de Cacao

1 oz. Light Cream

Method: Pour all the ingredients in to measure in a mixing glass filled with ice. Cap with a tin and shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
