Drink of the Day: Kretchma Cocktail

December 15, 2014 | By | Add a Comment

Hope all of you had a nice and restful weekend. As you know, with the holidays getting into full swing, that was probably the last one that will not be full of holiday parties and last minute shopping. Being in the bar business, I can attest that I have been busier than normal with the work parties and people who are just in the holiday spirit, wanting to share it with others. I enjoy every moment of it. All except that moment in the morning when I want to jump out of bed and that jump just isn’t there. For those of you who are reading this and are past their prime, you know exactly what I’m talking about. For those of you who still have it, you better appreciate it and take full advantage while you do. Now, where did I put that bottle of Advil?

This is the last full week of work until next year, so I wanted to give you a simple, yet tasty, beverage that you can enjoy on your Monday evening. A lemon and chocolate vodka combination that will take you less than a minute to prepare. A perfect drink that you can fix up during commercials while watching the Monday Night Game.

Have a great and safe week, my friends. Appreciate those around you and get into the holiday spirit and at the same time be aware of your surroundings and be responsible. Most importantly, enjoy every moment and build new memories. Here’s to a fantastic Monday! Cheers!

Kretchma Cocktail

1 1/2 oz. Vodka

1 oz. Creme de Cacao

Juice of half Lemon

Splash of Grenadine

Method: Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass filled with ice. Cap and shake well. Strain into a nicely chilled cocktail glass. Take a lemon rind and twist it over the cocktail, allowing the oils from the rind disperse onto the drink. Rub the twist gently on the rim of the glass before dropping it into the cocktail.
