Drink of the Day: Lunch Box Shooter

October 25, 2014 | By | Add a Comment

Happy Saturday, everyone!

Autumn is upon us, and the brisk winds and colder weather is here. The leaves are falling off the trees and it’s harder to get out of bed in the morning, wanting to spend that extra minute under the covers in your comfortable bed. Honestly, this is my favorite time of year here in the Midwest. The chill is still bearable and the coolness of the night makes for a perfect sleep. Plus, we get to try some more of the heartier drinks out their to keep the chill off.

I am kind of going off track a little and introducing a great shooter that will surely get you where you want to go in a hurry, so be very careful when enjoying it. This is a beer drop shooter that is not for the weak of heart. Add a dosage of Canadian whisky and Amaretto and you have yourself a very tasty beverage. You may want to keep this down to one per night. If you do more, be sure to space it out to about one every hour and a half just to keep your wits.

Be sure to watch the video on this one. One of the rare occasions when I get my camera guy, Adam, to join in on the festivities.

Have a great weekend! Cheers!

Lunch Box Shooter

3/4 oz. Crown Royal

3/4 oz. Amaretto

6 oz. American Pilsner style beer (this is to keep the alcohol level down)

1 oz. Orange Juice

Method: In a pint glass, pour beer up to the halfway point of the glass. Pour the orange juice into the beer. Set the glass aside. In a shot glass, pour equal parts of Amaretto and Crown Royal. Take the shot glass with the liquor and drop it into the glass with the beer. Proceed to shoot the drink, making sure to be careful not to chip your teeth with the shot glass.
