Drink of the Day: Marilyn Monroe Cocktail
Happy Wednesday, everyone! We are at the turn and going in to the last days of the week getting primed for the weekend. I have just the cocktail for you to do just that.
On this date, back in 1954, Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio got married. Though this marriage only lasted nine months, Joe was so smitten on the beautiful scarlet that he would put flowers on her grave every year on her birthday until he would pass away in 1999. There is a cocktail named after her that I would like to share with you today.
This is a great champagne cocktail, enhanced with brandy to give it a better kick and one that compliments the bubbly quite well. I think you will agree that this is the perfect mid-week quencher that you can tolerate having a couple of, even if it’s a night you will have to call early due to work in the morning.
Marilyn Monroe Champagne Cocktail
1 oz. Brandy
Splash of Grenadine
Champagne or Sparkling Wine
Method: Build this in a champagne flute by first adding the brandy and grenadine. Slowly pour the champagne or sparkling wine in to top off. Stir with a stir stick. Add two maraschino cherries on a garnish sword for garnish.
