Drink of the Day: Moon Quake Shake
If you are a rum imbiber, you know that there are many types to enjoy and many ways of drinking it. Many in this country are most familiar with just a couple, most commonly the white rum and spiced rum varieties. One type that is only usually used as a secondary ingredient in many of the tiki cocktails is getting top billing today with this nice coffee and brandy enhanced sipper. The smooth character of dark rum compliments the other ingredients nicely, giving you an experience I’m sure you will go back for time and time again.
Don’t ask why this is named what it is, for I have no clue. However, the flavors of this amazing drink combine well to give you the perfect after-dinner treat, or a cocktail that will be a nice day-ender while forgetting about the hustle and bustle while enjoying the warmth from a fireplace. In my opinion, this can be enjoyed anytime and is a perfect warmer-upper. Unlike most rum drinks that are made for the summer months, this one can be justly enjoyed during the winter to warm you up from the inside out. In fact, the preparation of this cocktail can be much different than the one I will share, where I chill it with ice and place it in a chilled cocktail glass. You can also combine the ingredients directly from the bottle and into a snifter to give you a nice beverage to compliment your cup of coffee.
This should get your Friday started right. Have a great day and a better weekend. Cheers!
