Drink of the Day: The Orlof Cocktail

July 8, 2014 | By | Add a Comment

A very nice brandy beverage that makes for a great aperitif and nice social sipper. The orange and melon liqueurs go well with this full-bodied spirit and the sour mix brings it all together. If you are into something a little sweet, this is one you will be sure to enjoy during the cocktail hour.

Brandy has been somewhat forgotten in the cocktail world. With all the vodka cocktails out there, everything else seems somewhat secondary. If you have never tried brandy, you are missing out. A very nice mixer for you with the sweet tooth, making cocktails with this gives you a true balance of flavor between it and whatever you mix with it. Sometimes something other than vanilla ice cream on your pallet gives you the appreciation of what you’ve been missing. Give this a try. You may never go back to vanilla again.

The Orlof

1 oz. Brandy

1/2 oz. Triple Sec

1/2 oz. Melon Liqueur

3/4 oz. Sour Mix
