Drink of the Day: Outrigger Cocktail

February 12, 2015 | By | Add a Comment

I cannot wait until this winter is over. So much, in fact, that I am introducing you to a nice summer-like rum beverage today.

For me, I can have a rum cocktail any time of the year. With the one I am showing you today, this can make a nice beverage on the rocks as well as the way I showcase it, which is nicely chilled in a cocktail glass. Either way, you will have yourself a fine tiki-type beverage that you can enjoy while kicking back and relaxing.

This coming weekend is going to be the coldest so far this winter in my neck of the woods. It’s time to get the fire going and close my eyes while listening to some good Caribbean music and only wishing I was in a hotter climate. With this drink, I will have the best part of the tropics anyway.

Enjoy your Thursday, my friends. Wishing you a fun-filled and exciting day. Cheers!

Outrigger Cocktail

1 1/2 oz. White Rum

3/4 oz. Amaretto

1/2 oz. Pineapple Juice

1/2 oz. Cranberry Juice

1/2 oz. Dark Rum

Method: Pour everything except the dark rum into a mixing glass with ice to measure. Cap with a tin and shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Top off with the dark rum. Garnish with an orange wheel on the rim of the glass.
