Drink of the Day: Planter’s Punch
A Happy Hump Day to you! Wednesday is the middle of the week and we are now on the down slope towards the weekend. We are also already on the downslope in the month of August already, with only a week and a half to go until we hit the month of September. Hmm, sounds like another great excuse for a nice and refreshing tiki drink for today’s Drink of the Day!
There are many variations of this cocktail. This one is my favorite, giving you a nice blend of rums and fruit juices. A perfect seasonal beverage to refresh yourself while enjoying friends during the last weeks of the season.
1 1/2 oz White Rum
3/4 oz. Triple Sec
1/2 oz. Pineapple Juice
1/2 oz. Orange Juice
Juice from 1/2 Lemon
Splash of Grenadine
3/4 oz. Dark Rum
Method: In a mixing glass filled with ice, pour all the ingredients in to measure except the dark rum. Cap and shake well. Strain into a tulip glass filled with ice. Top off with dark rum. Garnish with a lime and orange wedge on the rim of the cocktail.
