Drink of the Day: Poison Apple

I just found out that the kids have only one week of school left before being off for the holidays. Is it just me, or do kids seem to get off earlier every year? Not that I have an issue with this, mind you. It just seems that there is never enough time in the day to get things done when you become the chauffeur, the cook, the picker-upper of the house, when the kids are around. Guess I may have to get the Christmas shopping done a little earlier this year.

To help me along, a cocktail like this should do the trick. This one is another 2 in 1, meaning that it doesn’t take long to get you where you want. So, be very careful when imbibing on one of these. Plus, the flavor of this will make you think it is not strong at all. I am warning you now that guzzling one of these, and not taking the time to enjoy its flavor, would be a very bad idea.

Poison Apple

1/2 oz. Spiced Rum

1/2 oz. Canadian Whisky

1/2 oz. Chambord Raspberry Liqueur

1/2 oz. Sour Apple Liqueur

1/2 oz. Sour Mix

Lemon-Lime Soda

Method: Build this in a pint glass filled with ice, by pouring in all the ingredients except the lemon-lime soda. Cap with a tin and give the drink two good shake to blend the ingredients. Uncap, then top off with lemon lime soda. Garnish with a lemon half-wheel on the rim of the glass.
