Drink of the Day: The Princeton
Today’s Drink of the Day has one of my favorite secondary ingredients in it: Tawny Port. No matter what you are adding this ingredient to, it seems to bring out the best of whatever its working with. There is no exception to that rule here. In fact, I tend to use a spirit that is on the high end instead of well when using this. You seem to get so much more out of the imbibing experience. The addition of orange bitters brings even more to the table. When you take your first sip of this cocktail, you will be amazed on how easy it was to prepare it.
Hope your day is filled with nice moments and good friends. Enjoy you Thursday.
Princeton
1 1/2 oz. Gin (I recommend you using your favorite for this cocktail to get the best experience.)
3/4 oz. Tawny Port
3 Dashes of Orange Bitters
Method: Build this in an old fashioned glass filled with ice by pouring in all ingredients to measure. Take an orange rind and twist it over the cocktail, allowing the oils from the peel to disperse onto the drink. Gently rub the twist on the rim of the glass before dropping it into the drink. Take a stir stick and tamp down on the orange twist while stirring.
