Drink of the Day: Quaker Cocktail
Wow, did this week go fast! Happy Friday, everyone! Hope your week was nice and quick like mine was. Nice when things go that way. Now, it is the weekend. However, unlike some of you, this is the beginning of my work week. No matter….when it comes to bartending, I look forward to going to work. I have been blessed in that regard. Now, if I could only get my body to agree with me half the time after the work day is over.
Here is a nice day ending cocktail that is full of kick and combines brandy and rum to give you a nice treat after a long day. After a couple of these, the physical part of your being will relax and get you in the mood for nothing but a nice warm bed to sleep in. This, in my opinion, is a comfort cocktail; one which puts you in the frame of mind and spirit.
Enjoy your weekend. When enjoying friends and family, be sure to keep your responsibilities in tact and not overdo it. And if you do, be sure you have a Plan B.
As you know, you have seen a lot of cocktails on here the last few years. If you could do me a favor and peruse the site a little bit, I would appreciate it. Keep me in mind if you are ever looking for a cocktail. All you have to do is put the name of the cocktail in the search bar and, if I have it on here, it will show right up.
Quaker Cocktail
1 1/2 oz. Brandy
3/4 oz. Light Rum
1/2 oz. Chambord
1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
Juice from 1/2 Lemon
Method: Pour all the ingredients to measure in a mixing glass filled with ice. Cap with a tin and shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Take a lemon peel and twist over the drink, allowing the oils from the rind to disperse on top of the cocktail. Gently rub the twist on the rim of the glass before dropping it in.
