The Drink of the Day is the Saratoga Cocktail
Brandy is a nice and sweet choice that is a great ingredient for a summertime cocktail. It goes well with many mixers, mostly citrus, and is a great substitute for rum on occasion. Even combining it with rum is a good way to up your flavor notes on many tiki beverages. However, today I am just going to use the brandy as the main act of this drink. We will get a little more into combining these ingredients soon.
Here’s another Drink of the Day that is named after one of the great cities of Florida and is the perfect place to have one of these beverages. The nice aromatic tendencies using maraschino liqueur as a secondary ingredient will satisfy the nose while you are enjoying every sip. You can appreciate this cocktail on the rocks as well as up. I have a video attached to show you how to make the “up” version.
As always, have fun but always drink responsibly. Enjoy this tropical weather while keeping yourself nicely refreshed imbibing one of these.
2 oz. Brandy
1/2 oz. Maraschino Liqueur
1 oz. Pineapple Juice
Juice of 1/2 Lemon
2 Dashes of Aromatic Bitters
Method: In a mixing glass filled with ice, pour in all the ingredients to measure. Cap off with a tin and shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
