Drink of the Day: Sputnik

October 24, 2014 | By | Add a Comment

This cocktail is named after the first man-made artificial satellite to be put into orbit. The Soviet Union launched this in October 1957. It’s hard to believe, but now there are close to 2500 artificial man-made satellites orbiting our planet, most of which can be considered space junk. So, be sure to be ready to duck from time to time when one of these hit the atmosphere. Don’t worry. If you get hit with one of these bad boys, you probably won’t feel a thing.

This cocktail is a Harry Navel and adding cream to it. A rather tasty beverage I have to say. The cream tends to lighten up the sweetness of the peach and gives it a more cobbler esque type flavor to it. I was quite pleased with the flavor. A very nice option for a dessert cocktail. You may want to have two.

Hope your Friday goes fast until you’re off work, then begins to slow down for you, so you can relax and enjoy the weekend. This should help ease you into it. Cheers!
