Drink of the Day: Sword Fish Cocktail

July 5, 2014 | By | Add a Comment

I woke up this morning thinking it was Sunday and here we are just beginning the true weekend. I wanted to share another refreshing rum beverage with you that you can enjoy on this spectacular day that compliments the warm weather and long weekend. Plus, it will be easy enough a day after Independence Day.

A rum based drink with some citrus and melon undertones, this cocktail will keep you quenched, while satisfying the need for a hair of the dog. Light in body and heavy in spirit, this will make for a nice retreat as you clean up after the festivities with family and friends from the day before.

…..maybe we can clean everything up tomorrow.

Sword Fish Cocktail

1 1/2 oz. Light Rum

3/4 oz. Dark Rum

1/2 oz. Melon Liqueur

Juice of 1/2 Lemon

Method: In a mixing glass filled with ice, put in all the ingredients except the soda water. Cap and shake to blend the ingredients. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Top off with soda water. Garnish with a half wheel of lemon on the rim of the glass.
