Drink of the Day: Ward Eight Cocktail
Good morning! Hope some of you are living in warmer climates out there today. In the mid-West, we are at a balmy 5 degrees F this morning. Had a hard time getting from under the covers to start off the day.
Here is a nice whiskey beverage to help get you to the right temperature. The citrus and sugar bring the bite of the whiskey down, all the while bringing out the best attributes to the spirit: the rye flavor. This compliments and rounds out everything well. If you are a true whiskey imbiber, this is one drink you need to try.
Have a pleasant day, everyone. Cheers!
Ward Eight
2 oz. Rye Whiskey
1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
Juice from 1/2 Lemon
Splash Grenadine
Method: Add all ingredients to measure in a mixing glass with ice. Cap off with a tin and shake to blend the ingredients. Strain into a wine glass filled halfway with ice. Garnish with a lemon/lime/cherry flag.
