Drink of the Day: White Spider

December 16, 2014 | By | Add a Comment

If you are a cocktailer, you are familiar with the brandy-based Sidecar Cocktail. Just take the brandy out and replace it with gin and you have yourself a White Spider. If gin is your thing, you are going to love this simple-to-make beverage.

This is as basic as they come. The combined flavor of the ingredients, when measured properly, brings out the back flavor of the gin. So, I highly recommend you use one that satisfies your tastes. I used your basic well triple sec when putting the video together. Using a premium brand such as Borducan, Grand Marnier or Cointreau will give you a more balanced drink, so I highly recommend it.

Enjoy your day. This Drink of the Day will help in that regard. Cheers!

White Spider

2 oz. Gin

1 oz. Borducan Italian Orange Liqueur (my new favorite orange liqueur. This may still not be available in your area, but will be soon)

Juice of 1 Lemon

1/2 oz. Simple Syrup

Method: Put all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice. Cap with a tin and shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Take a lemon rind and twist it over the cocktail, allowing the oils to disperse over the drink. Rub the twist gently on the rim before dropping it in.
