Drink of the Day: Bruise Cocktail
Greetings and good day!
After not being having to wake up to take the kids to school for the last ten days, I found myself sleeping through my alarm and hurrying this morning to get them to where they needed to be on time. That’s what had me thinking about this cocktail.
I tend to be a bit clumsy the first hour I am up and about. My body and mind have yet to get calibrated and it amazes me that I have yet to do something to do myself serious bodily harm. Today, being that I was moving faster than normal, put an exclamation point on this fact. Bruises seem to happen sometimes, and you try to look back to think when this injury may have happened. The discoloration of the skin is that reminder that you need to slow down and think before you step.
The color of this cocktail gives it it’s name. However, a mistake it is not. If you are into sweet and fruity cocktails, this is a must - try. Mandarin vodka based, this cocktail is helped along with a host of secondary ingredients to help heighten your senses and having you thirst for more after you have enjoyed your first. I must recommend that you may want to take your time imbibing or you may have a few missteps yourself.
Have a wonderful day, my friends! Cheers!
1 1/2 oz. Mandarin infused Vodka
1/2 oz. Chambord
1/2 oz. Blue Curacao
1/2 oz. Pineapple Juice
Lemon Lime Soda
Method: Build this in a highball glass filled with ice by pouring in the first four ingredients to measure. Top off with lemon lime soda. Garnish with an orange quarter-wheel on the rim of the glass.
