Drink of the Day: Bull and Bear Cocktail

The New York Stock Exchange is the measure of the financial state of our country. Security trading between brokers dates back to this date in 1792 under a Buttonwood tree in front of 68 Wall Street. Twenty-four traders and merchants signed the Buttonwood Agreement. This group would grow and eventually would write up their constitution to form what is now known the New York Stock Exchange in 1817.

To recognize this, I have a cocktail that is fitting for the springtime. A fruity, bourbon-based cocktail that you can sip on after you get done with your daily errands. A fitting cocktail to enjoy while relaxing on the patio and thinking about all of your accomplishments for the day. This is the time of day we all look forward to; something one would never trade in a million years.

As the grass gets greener and the leaves come into full bloom, it’s time to get ready for the coming busy season. But, for now, let’s just take a little “me” time and relish this moment of imbibing. Cheers!

Bull and Bear Cocktail

2 oz. Bourbon Whiskey

3/4 oz. Orange Curacao

Juice of 1/2 Lemon

2 Splashes Grenadine

Method: Combine all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice. Cap and shake well. Strain into a nicely chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange half-wheel and maraschino cherry.
