Drink of the Day: Coffee Alexander

April 19, 2015 | By | Add a Comment

The weekend is winding down and we now find ourselves enjoying Sunday. Hopefully, what this means is that you are giving yourself the day off from all your chores. You are about to refuel for another work week ahead. Here is a nice, tasty treat for you to help you keep focused on nothing but relaxation today.

This is a tweaked version of a classic cocktail I had showcased on here earlier in the week last week. Just adding one ingredient gives this cocktail many more dimensions than its predecessor and one I found fit to introduce today. I can see this fitting well as a nightcap; something that would make a great final course for tonight’s dinner.

Hope your day is filled with…well….not much of anything but relaxation and bliss. Here’s something to help that along and get you in that state of mind. Cheers!

Coffee Alexander

1 1/2 oz. Gin

3/4 oz. Coffee Liqueur

1/2 oz White Creme de Cacao

1 oz. Cream

Method: Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Cap with a tin and shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

This Day in History:

1775 - The Revolutionary War began.

1897 - The first Boston Marathon was run.

1933 - The United States went off the gold standard.

1993 - The Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas was set on fire by cult members as FBI agents broke in with tear gas. The fire would take 83 lives and injure hundreds. This would be the end of a 51-day siege.

1995 - The Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City was bombed by a car bomb, killing 168 people.
