Drink of the Day: Electric Iced Tea
Happy Hump Day! Getting to the crest of the hill and seeing the weekend ahead is always a good feeling. The phrase, “Work to live!”, comes to mind here as we all do what we need to pay on bills and keep some for ourselves to enjoy the little time we have off with family and friends. Here’s a cocktail you may want to wait to enjoy when the weekend comes.
This drink is based with the same liquor ingredients as a Long Island Iced Tea except for the addition of blue curacao. Adding lemon-lime soda instead of cola, and using fresh lemon and sugar in place of sour mix gives you a refreshing change of pace from the everyday. The color will be a great conversation starter with it’s blue tint; especially if you’re outside on the deck and the sun hits it the right way.
Have a great rest of your week and enjoy each moment of your day! Cheers!
1/2 oz. Vodka
1/2 oz. Gin
1/2 oz. Rum
1/2 oz. Triple Sec
1/2 oz. Blue Curacao
Juice of 1/2 Lemon
1 Tsp. Sugar
Lemon Lime Soda
Method: Combine all ingredients, except the lemon-lime soda, in a mixing glass with ice. Cap with a tin and shake well to dissolve the sugar, (1/2 oz. of simple syrup in place of the sugar will solve this issue). Strain contents into a pint glass with ice. Top off with lemon lime soda. Garnish with a half-wheel of lemon on the rim of the glass.
