Drink of the Day: Jamaica Me Crazy
I’ll give you three guesses on what the main ingredient is in this cocktail. A simple, yet tasty, beverage that will take you less than a minute to prepare and one that you will go back to time and again due to it’s flavor. Plus, it has a fun name. How can you go wrong?
A combination of Jamaican amber rum and coffee liqueur with a pineapple wash is all this cocktail is. You will soon learn that the flavor of these three ingredients seem destined to be together. A great blend that seems to enhance the attributes of each. The rum and coffee liqueur combination is pretty common in tiki cocktails and you will see why after your first sip on this one.
Just another summertime beverage you can add to the list of must-haves when the pool opens. Feel free to enjoy one now if you must. I won’t tell a soul.
Cheers!
1 1/2 oz. Amber Rum (preferably from Jamaica)
3/4 oz. Tia Maria
Pineapple Juice
Method: Build this in a highball glass with ice by adding the first two ingredients to measure. Top off with pineapple juice. For garnish, sword up a pineapple chunk and maraschino cherry, (optional).
