Drink of the Day: Leigh’s Almondtini
I was introduced to this cocktail by a gentleman who was traveling with the cast of the Broadway hit, “Hair”, and wanted to share it with you today. With the way it will be snowing in my area today, this will be the perfect cocktail to be sipping when watching it’s beauty in the warmth and comfort of home.
A nutty and creamy cocktail, this will warm you up and get you ready to make an early day of it. Chores can wait until tomorrow. Put your most comfortable pajamas on and put a big log on the fire. Close your eyes and feel solitude as you sip on this nice and velvety beverage.
With me having to go to work today, I better not think any more of what I describing or I may have to come up with an excuse and call off sick.
Be sure to make some time for you today. Wish you all a nice and relaxing Sunday. Cheers!
Leigh’s Almond-tini
1 1/2 oz. Vanilla Vodka
3/4 oz. Frangelico
3/4 oz. Dark Creme de Cacao
3/4 oz. Cream
Method: Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice. Cap and shake well. Strain into a nicely chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
Side Note: With the name of the cocktail, you would think this would have amaretto instead of hazelnut liqueur. However, this sounds better than a “hazelnut-tini”. Plus, this is a cocktail that was introduced to me by someone else and I wanted to make it the way he introduced it to me. I bet this would be good with the amaretto as well. Give it a try.
