Drink of the Day: Lost in Thyme

May 12, 2015 | By | Add a Comment

Hope your day is starting out right for you. Just getting into this new week, I wanted to share something we started several months ago.

When I first introduced this cocktail back in November, it had yet to be named. We decided to have a contest to see who would come up with a catchy one that would best suit this drink. Thanks to bartender, Oscar Escobar from Sacramento, California for giving us that!

The Lost in Thyme is a whiskey sour-type beverage that is enhanced with the flavor of raspberry liqueur and given a slight fragrance of thyme. A great combination for a refreshing summertime beverage.

We used Topo White Moonshine whiskey distilled in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, when making the video. Sweet notes complimented with a peppery fudge undertone, and brought all together with a hint of vanilla, give this whiskey it’s character. When making a cocktail, one should want to bring these flavors out, getting rid of the bite of the whiskey itself. I think we accomplished just that. If this particular whiskey is not attainable in your area, don’t worry; just use a whiskey you enjoy.

I hope you enjoy the beverage. Once again, thanks Oscar for giving this a name. Cheers!
