Drink of the Day: Mariposa

We are getting so close to the pool season here in the Midwest. To help you get in the mood, here is a cocktail that will help you do so.

A rum and brandy combination with some notes of citrus, then sweetened with some grenadine, you will be sure to get in the right mindset and have yourself a cocktail to get good at preparing when the season finally arrives.

Mariposa

1 oz. Rum

1 oz. Brandy

Juice of 1/2 Lemon

1/2 oz. Orange Juice

Splash of Grenadine

 

Method: Combine all the ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Cap with a tin and shake well. Strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange wheel on the rim of the glass.
