Drink of the Day: Planter’s Punch
I am very excited to get started again, after my six week absence, introducing cocktails for your imbibing pleasure! What better way than to kick it off with an old island classic that never goes out of style - The Planter’s Punch. Let’s get down to it, shall we?
We are now in the hot days of summer, where the kids are enjoying their little bit of relaxation between school years by getting as much pool time as possible. Of course, you find yourself being a part of this summer activity, trying to find a good book to read while bronzing in the lounge chair. Depending on the age of your children and their friends, you end up spending more time being their personal life guard than anything else, instead of enjoying your novel of choice, which can leave you quite frazzled at the end of the day. Once you get the kids situated for the evening, it may not be a bad idea to treat yourself to one of these classics.
The best summer cocktails, in my opinion, are those that are full of fruit flavor and rum. Sipping on a couple of these after your daily chores will give you a much deserved taste of gratification. Hell, you deserve something after toting the little ones around all day. And if you don’t happen to have kids and you find yourself tanning poolside, you could probably quench yourself with a couple of these between dips.
No matter where you find yourself, as you read this blog, feel free to indulge. Close your eyes and think nothing but smooth thoughts ahead while enjoying pure refreshment. Cheers!
