Drink of the Day: Randy Little Kiwi Cocktail

A good Monday morning to all of you! Hope your weekend was full of fun and adventure. Now, it’s time to get back to the daily grind. I could think of no better way of doing this than to introduce you to a nice and refreshing vodka beverage.

Though this one will take some time to make, it is very refreshing and healthier than most cocktails. This drink calls for fresh kiwi and you can’t help but have yourself a nice and refreshing beverage when it’s all said and done. I will admit, it doesn’t look too pretty when you are preparing it. However, what you will end up with is a nice and tasty cocktail that will WOW your taste buds.

I kind of dug into my archives to get this one out. Made myself one of these this past weekend and I felt I needed to share it with you. A unique blend of fresh kiwi, melon liqueur, and vodka to give it the kick. I added two teaspoons of sugar to this, as the recipe I found calls for it. However, you may want to tone down, or even take this out of the recipe altogether. I will leave that up to you.

Randy Little Kiwi Cocktail

1/2 Pealed Kiwi

2 Tsp. Sugar

1 oz. Vodka

1 oz. Melon Liqueur

Method: Take the pealed 1/2 kiwi and sugar and place them in a mixing glass. Using a toothed muddler, muddle until you have a uniform smash. In a tin with ice, pour in equal parts of vodka and melon liqueur. Cap the tin with the mixing glass with the smash and proceed to shake vigorously. Strain into an old fashioned glass filled with ice. If you do not want debris from the smash in the finished cocktail, double strain using a hawthorn strainer and mash strainer combo.
