Drink of the Day: Sonic Blaster

Here’s a cocktail that is about as “tiki” as they come. A true tropical beverage that can be enjoyed any time of the year, but is probably a little more appreciated during the hot days we have been experiencing of late. I know I will be cooling down with one of these myself a little later in the day.

A combination of liquors and fruit juices gives your taste buds an overload of tropical flavors that one will appreciate. Especially those who want to mask the liquor all together. Though you can’t taste these ingredients, three liquors are involved in the making of this mixed drink. The three fruit juices that are equally present are assisted by banana liqueur, which knocks this beverage out of the park and will have your senses on overload. Be ready for an explosion of flavor with every sip.

As I sit here beginning my day, putting this Drink of the Day together, I am now thinking of my nightcap after finishing today’s duties, sitting on the back patio and looking back at the productive day I’ve had. I am looking forward to my reward after meeting and exceeding the expectations that I have put upon myself. After my first sip and thinking back on the last 24 hours, I will be thinking of you doing the same.

Sonic Blaster

1/2 oz. Vodka

1/2 oz. White Rum

1/2 oz. Creme de Banana

1 oz. Cranberry Juice

1 oz. Pineapple Juice

1 oz. Orange Juice

 

Method: Combine all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice. Cap with a tin and shake enough to blend the ingredients. Strain into a highball glass with ice. Garnish with half-wheels of orange and lime of the rim of the glass.
