Drink of the Day: Southern Belle
For all you whiskey fans out there, this week is a good one on here, with me introducing yet another whiskey cocktail. Unlike the “Dirty Redhead”, which didn’t have anything but liquor in it, this one is complimented with the addition to a couple fruit juices to help take the bite out of the alcohol. For those of you wanting more than just a shot of whiskey, yet still want to imbibe on the spirit without it being too prominent, today is a great day to be checking out this site!
When selecting a whiskey for this drink, I highly recommend bourbon or Tennessee whiskey when making this. The sweetness of this helps compliment the secondary ingredients well, giving you a more nicely rounded beverage. Though you are taking the bite out of the spirit when making this cocktail, you still have the flavor of the whiskey coming out and helping with the overall flavor. Using another whiskey in place of the ones I mention will change the end result when making this drink.
Enjoy your day and have a great Thursday. Cheers!
1 1/2 oz. Tennessee whiskey or bourbon whiskey
1/2 oz. Triple Sec
2 oz. Pineapple Juice
Splash of Orange Juice
Splash of Grenadine
Method: Build this in a highball glass filled with ice by pouring in all the ingredients to measure. Stir. Add a half wheel of an orange on the rim of the glass to dress it up.
