Drink of the Day: Sword Fish Cocktail
Since tomorrow is International Rum Day, it would be an injustice for me to chose any other spirit for this weekend’s festivities. Today’s drink has a couple styles of rum in it that blend in well with the other ingredients, giving you one fine refresher to enjoy in the summer weather months.
A fine combination of white rum and dark rum, to go along with the melon and citrus, gives you a tropical treat while enjoying friends at the outdoor get-together; enhancing each memorable moment with every savory sip. What better way to celebrate this spirit than with a very balanced, full-flavored, cocktail.
So, without further ado let’s get on with it, shall we?
Cheers!
1 1/2 oz. Light Rum
3/4 oz. Dark Rum
1/2 oz. Melon Liqueur
Juice of 1/2 Lemon
Soda Water
Method: Combine all ingredients, except the soda water, in a mixing glass with ice. Cap with a tin and shake to blend. Strain into a highball glass with ice. Top with soda water. Garnish with a lemon half-wheel.
