Drink of the Day: Tequila Mockingbird

July 22, 2015 | By | Add a Comment

Happy Hump Day! We are finally on the downswing for the week. Here’s a simple cocktail with a great name to assist you on a smooth voyage the rest of the way there.

If nothing else, you will get a kick out of the name of this beverage. A unique combination of mint, tequila, and citrus flavors gives this simple-to-make cocktail an interesting lure. I do have to admit, this is a very minty cocktail and is not for all you imbibers out there. But, made properly, it is a perfect taster for an after - dinner sipper and is a nice change of pace for you tequila lovers.

When making this, to assist in toning down the mint, be sure to only use fresh lime juice and nothing imitation. The reason for this is that you will need the bitterness from this ingredient to round out the edges and gives this drink a sour edge that does well in bringing everything involved in the drink together nicely.

So, if you are in the mood to have something unique, and want to steer away from the everyday cocktail, I suggest you giving this a try.

Enjoy your Wednesday. Cheers!
