Drink of the Day: Vicious Sid

July 31, 2015 | By | Add a Comment

We are finally here! We can see the weekend just ahead of us. It’s time to get into the relaxation mode for the next couple days. Well, unless you have major project you have to get done around the house. But, let’s make tonight our night, shall we?

Let’s pull out one of my favorite rum cocktails of all time. What I love about this drink is the that it is a true sipper - one you will want to take your time to enjoy. I won’t hesitate using my favorite rum with this, due to the fact that the secondary ingredients of this cocktail tend to bring out the best the rum has to offer. Yes, you will get the other flavors kind of tampering. However, the way the rum compliments the other elements of this drink will only give you a more rounded finish if using what you enjoy when imbibing rum on its own. Though I didn’t use this when making the video of this cocktail, a fine aged amber does just fine and gives you a richer, more tasty beverage when it’s all said and done.

Why don’t we just get down to it! A tasty beverage. Remember not to overdo the ingredients that will be sharing the stage with the rum. You want to take away the bite, but not override why it’s presence is the most prevalent. Exposing the inner workings of the spirit and enhancing it with the other flavors will give you a true cocktail that will never dissatisfy.

Enjoy your Friday! Cheers!
