The Flaming Concord is March 15th Drink of the Day!!

Ah, nothing like a flaming shooter drink to get your weekend kicked off the right way. This is a nice blend of rum, irish cream, and coffee liqueur that goes down very smooth other than the 151 that grabs you as you’re finishing the final swallow. Might want to limit yourself to only a couple of these. Yes, they are smooth. But, it doesn’t make them less potent.

As with all drinks that start you off with a flame, be sure to let the glass cool a little before doing the shot. Also, the flame is very hard to see, so be sure to make it your duty to ensure the flame has been snuffed out before putting the glass to your lips, or the night will not be a good one for you. This is where you will have to be very responsible and attentive.

If you are not into the flame, go with a lesser proof rum and just layer it on top of the other two ingredients. It is still a very tasty beverage going this route.

Flaming Concord

1/2 oz. Coffee Liqueur

1/2 oz. Irish Cream

1/2 oz. 151 Rum

 

Method: In a shot glass, layer the three ingredients in the order above by first pouring in the coffee liqueur to measure. Then add the Irish cream by using a bar spoon with the back of the spoon facing up and pouring the irish cream on top of it, so it distributes evenly on top of the first ingredient. Follow this step with the 151 on top of the Irish cream as well. Use a lighter to light the shot, but for only a few seconds. Have the drinker blow out the shot. Make certain that they are sure the flame is out. Wait about ten seconds to shoot the drink to give the shot glass time to cool down.
